In the mornings we met together to discuss topics relating to purity, and in the afternoons we had a few activities. One day we floated down the nearby river on inner tubes, and the next day we hiked up to a mountain lake. A few kids decided to try to the polar challenge and stayed in the frigid water as long as they could. The girl who won had a time of upwards of 20 minutes. While we waited for the contestants to turn blue and develop hypothermia in a mind over matter feat, someone discovered a geocache box. Geocaches can be found in many state parks and locations worldwide. You are supposed to go online and find the coordinates for them. Then you plug the coordinates into your GPS and begin the search for it. This one was an ammo box with various trinkets inside: little figurines or pamphlets, and even a granola bar. Common etiquette is to take an item as a souvenir and leave one of equal value for future geocachers. We signed our names in the little notebook and returned the box to its hiding place.
This Saturday I will embark on the journey back to school for what I presume to be my final semester at the Missions Training Center in Missouri. My roommate and I plan to caravan down there, stopping at a couple of campsites along the way. We will see what kind of stories come out of that.
