A lot of my break was spent hanging out with people, watching movies, and playing games. Some of it was also more profitable, though. My roommate, Josh, and I did some work for the Brunns, another staff couple. We did some painting and also cleared some brush behind their house to keep the view beautiful. Their house sits on the edge of a hill, with a picturesque view across the valley. It felt good to swing a machete again, even if it was a Wal-mart special, having the same hardness as a cooked spaghetti noodle. Not quite. But it didn't take many rocks to ruin the edge of the blade.
Outreach on Sunday went well. I talked to a few guys about their lives and beliefs. I've been building a relationship with one guy and he is reading the book I gave him. It is "By This Name" by John Cross, an excellent chronological explanation of the Bible from Creation through Christ. He was at the account of the flood and said he could hardly put the book down. I don't know where he stands with God, but keep praying that he will understand the truth.
