But in spite of all this, God is still good and I should still be thankful to Him. Sickness is no stranger to the seasoned missionary. But the incredible thing about God's Word is that it says we can rejoice when we face hardship. This is because hardship strengthens our trust in God, it makes us more perseverant, it builds our character and gives us tangible examples of the faithfulness of God in our lives.
Sometimes we don't know why certain things happen or why they happen at a particular time. We don't always have answers. Every time I read the book of Job, I'm amazed by how terrible the things were that happened to him. Yet, initially, he just said, "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."
In a week and a half, we are supposed to share our ministry at a tiny church and then I'm supposed to preach afterward. You can pray that my thinking will clear up and that my voice will return to normal so I don't sound like I'm from another planet. It's distracting.
